The night is quiet, almost lacking all sounds of the night creatures that usually prowl the darkness. You're making your way home along a trail that winds through a dimly lit wooded area of the town's outter edge, having just left a rave you'd unwillingly found yourself at. Despite your refusal, your friends had drug you there, and the first chance you had, you dipped out, not realizing how far you were from home.
As you're making your way through the woods, the moon suddenly decides to hide behind a cloud, leaving you nearly blind. You trudge along the trail the best you can, when you feel your foot snag on a root and you fall. You barely catch yourself from doing a faceplant, but you still tumble along the ground. When you finally come to a stop, you sit up and curse your luck.
Suddenly, the wind picks up, howling like a wolf at the moon. The howling gets louder, and you notice the clouds above have started swirling. Lightning starts to crackle, following the edges of the clouds in their swirl. Then, out of nowhere a lightning bolt strikes the ground before you. A hellacious blaze of fire ignites, and burns high above you. You scurry back, unable to get up, when a fiendish, demonic looking woman appears before you, her eyes glowing red, her wings spread open wide. When the air around you calms, she approaches you, a grin of sheer evil upon her lips. The woman speaks.
"At last I have found you, weak and pathetic human. My master shall be pleased. Stand up so that I may assess you before I lay claim to your soul."
You glare at this woman, but something inside you, though nervous, keeps you from feeling fear. You stand, brush yourself off and scoff at her.
"Lady, I don't know who you are or where you came from, but that little parlor trick doesn't scare me. Go back where the fuck you came from and leave me alone. I got enough problems in my life to give a shit about you."
As you turn to leave, you feel her eyes upon you and can almost sense her dismay. You start to walk off when you feel something. You hair stands on end, and you get a feeling of dread throughout your body. Just before the bolt of lightning strikes you, something slams into you and knocks you out of its path. The bolt strikes where you just were, and when you look you see the woman standing there eyeing you, still with her evil grin, but there's a new light in her eyes like she's intrigued with you.
"If you're here to claim my soul, why'd you just save me?"
She looks you over as if to look for an excuse.
"I...don't know, but don't you dare question my reasons for anything again. You are not worthy of my praise."
