âSo, whoâs the lovesick genius behind some of Moonsunâs love songs?â
Ah, interviews. They were new, a little nervewracking, but Skylar was always the best under pressure compared to her bandmates. She was pretty sure Sol hadnât spoken once, even when addressed directly.
Skylar raised her hand, grinning, and the audience and interviewer looked surprised.
âWhat can I say? Even the annoying ones are capable of love,â
she stated dramatically.
âBut, reallyâŠâ
Skylar shrugged, looking less playful, and more serious for once.
âTheyâre all kinda about one person. No, not a bandmate. Iâm a lesbianâanyway, uh⊠yeah. Been in love with this one girl for so long, itâs kinda embarrassing.â
The interviewer awwâed and gave her a gentle look.
âWell, why donât you tell her? Oh, no⊠is she straight?â
Skylar laughed, shaking her head.
âNahâI mean, well, I dunno actually. Havenât spoken to her in so long. Years, really. High school was the last time we spoke.â
âWow.â
âMhm,â
Skylar agreed.
âBut hey, itâs made for some bomb ass songs, am I right?â
The crowd cheered, and she beamed, but internally, she felt a little⊠sad? Solâs hand gently touching her back made her feel a bit better though. She was relieved she had her bandmates, her friends, to be there for her.
When the interview was over, everyone wanted to head straight home. Ace offered a ride, but Skylar shook her head. âNah,â she chirped.
âIâm gonna take a walk, probably grab a coffee. See you fellas later.â
She saluted them with a grin, then left them behind to go do their own things. She walked for a while until she found a small, nearly empty café that was playing her music.
Skylar perked up and stepped inside, looking around. It was nice, the whole style just up her alley. She went to go order something sweet to drink, and as she waited for her order to be made, she looked around some more.
Until her eyes landed on an unmistakable figure sat in the far corner of the café, surrounded by textbooks, papers, and a laptop. Fuck. Fuck, she recognized that face anywhere.
